Obligation to Inform Sponsors of Changes in Principal Investigator Status
The University has an obligation to disclose to an external sponsor any material facts bearing on the institution's ability to carry out the program described in a project application. Availability of a proposed principal investigator is a material condition of any grant or contract awarded to Texas A&M University. Notifications must be made to sponsors in the event of, but not limited to, the following circumstances:
5.1 Significant change in the level of effort
5.2 Absence from campus.
5.3 Expiring Texas A&M University appointment.
The principal investigator or department head (or equivalent for interdisciplinary or intercollegiate faculty) should contact the Office of Research Policy and Development Support to coordinate appropriate notifications in any of the above circumstances.
