BRIEF PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The NIH Obstetrical Pharmacology Research Network-Data Coordination and Analyses Center (OPRU-DCAC) (U10) Program is designed to provide coordination and organizational, informational, logistic and analytical support to the Obstetric Pharmacology Research Unit Network (OPRU), which consists of four clinical research sites funded by NICHD to carry out pharmacology research to enhance understanding of obstetrical pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, and improve appropriate therapeutics during pregnancy.
The DCAC will need to work closely with the OPRU steering committee, subcommittees and biological specimen repository site. Specific activities include: cooperating with the clinical sites; arranging meetings; designing and implementing computer-assisted personal interviews; coordinate activities related to collection of biological specimens; provide reports based on statistical analyses; develop and maintain a public and private OPRU web page; and develop and implement plans to create a database that is accessible to the public within a year of study completion.
The PI and other staff must have appropriate biostatistical, pharmacokinetic, pharmacodynamic, computational, data management and data coordination expertise and capability. Further, the applicant must have demonstrated prior experience as a coordinating and statistical center in multi-center preclinical and clinical pharmacology studies.
Applicants may request a project period of up to five years and up to $500,000 in direct costs per year.
